- Studied classical piano and saxophone at different Music Academies (Gooik, Geraardsbergen and Aalst) and at the Royal Conservatory of Music, Gent.
- Graduated in June 1998 at the Jazz Department of the Royal Conservatory of Music, Brussels (bass teacher: Bart Denolf), and received the Diploma of Music Education.
- Followed workshops, classes and master classes with Salvatore LaRocca, Michel Hatzigeorgiou and Hein Van de Geyn.
- Teacher of bass guitar, double bass, jazz ensemble and jazz theory at the Music Academy of Grimbergen and at the Kunst Humaniora Brussels.

· 1st Prize at the 10th European Jazz Competition 2001 in Avignon (France) with the Alexi Tuomarila Quartet.
· 1st Prize with the Mike Roelofs Quartet and finalist with Trix at the 2002 Frazz Crossover Competition in Leeuwarden (northern Holland).
· 2nd Prize with the Frederik Leroux Quintet at the "Jazz Competition 2003", held during the Breda Jazz Festival, Holland.
· 1st Prize at the International Contest for Jazz Groups (competing recordings) 2005 in Granada (Spain) with the Alexi Tuomarila Quartet.
